Galatasaray eyes young defenders from MLS and Paraguay

Galatasaray is preparing for the 2026‑27 season by targeting two young defenders under the Turkish Football Federation’s 10+4 foreign‑player rule. The club has opened talks with Chicago Fire midfielder‑defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi, a 20‑year‑old South African who impressed at the World Cup and previously moved to the MLS for €2.5 million. Management hopes to use the +4 quota for players under 23.

In parallel, Galatasaray is negotiating for Paraguay international Julio Enciso, a 22‑year‑old striker‑midfielder from Strasbourg. Enciso, who scored and assisted for Paraguay in the 2026 World Cup, is listed at €20‑30 million, with the club weighing the deal against UEFA Financial Fair Play constraints.
