Galatasaray prepares shock bid for Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden

Turkish giant Galatasaray is reportedly preparing a bold approach for 26‑year‑old England midfielder Phil Foden, who has spent his entire professional career at Manchester City. With one year left on his Etihad contract and a market value estimated at £60‑70 million, the Istanbul club sees Foden as the ideal creative number 10 and hopes to reunite him with former City teammates Leroy Sane and Ilkay Gündoğan. Agent George Gardi, who has strong ties to Galatasaray, has been given full authority to negotiate the move.

Other European clubs are also monitoring Foden’s situation, while Galatasaray’s transfer target list includes Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, Frankfurt’s Can Uzun and Strasbourg forward Julio Enciso. Earlier reports suggested Foden had reached a provisional four‑year extension with City, but no official announcement has been made. The midfielder missed the England World Cup squad, spent his summer at Wimbledon and the Silverstone Formula 1 Grand Prix, and is expected to resume training on 20 July ahead of City’s Asian pre‑season tour.

If the deal materialises, it would mark a high‑profile transfer from the Premier League to the Turkish Süper Lig, potentially reshaping the attacking options of both clubs for the 2025‑26 season.
