Galatasaray President Dursu n Özbek Sets Champions League Target Ahead of New Season
Galatasaray celebrated its 26th Turkish league title at an event in Bodrum, Turkey. President Dursun Özbek addressed supporters and the press, saying the club is preparing a team to achieve the results it wants in the Champions League. He added that the club will keep the core of last season’s squad and use the transfer window to fill any gaps.
Coach Okan Buruk echoed the ambition, stating the goal is to secure a fifth consecutive league title and to make deeper runs in European competition. Former coach Fatih Terim stressed Galatasaray’s tradition of major successes and expressed hope that the club will continue to win abroad. Goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır lamented missing a chance to bring pride to the country this season and pledged to help the team win the championship again next year. "Şampiyonlar Ligi’nde istediğimiz sonuçları almak için bir takım hazırlığı yapıyoruz," Özbek said during the press briefing.
