Galatasaray President backs Okan Buruk after Trabzonspor defeat

Following a 4-0 defeat against Trabzonspor, Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek has issued a statement of full support for head coach Okan Buruk. Özbek dismissed media rumors regarding internal friction, asserting that the management remains united in their pursuit of a fifth consecutive championship and European goals.

Despite the official stance, the loss has sparked significant debate. Some reports suggest internal dissatisfaction among club executives concerning the team’s lack of a clear game plan and tactical flexibility.

In related league news, Trabzonspor is looking toward strengthening its squad with potential arrivals such as Batagov and Folcarelli to address defensive and midfield needs. Additionally, Turgut Aydın Holding Chairman Hacı Turgut Aydın expressed interest in supporting Trabzonspor’s recent successes, though specific details of any potential partnership have not been disclosed.

Meanwhile, Sivasspor enters the international break in 15th place with 8 points, struggling to secure home victories during the early stages of the 2026-2027 season.
