Victor Osimhen stays at Galatasaray as club rejects €125 million offer

Galatasaray have turned down a €125 million bid for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, reaffirming their intention to keep the forward despite interest from top European clubs. The club had previously rejected a €120 million proposal from Atletico Madrid and says only offers above their asking price will be considered. Osimhen, who has scored 59 goals in 74 appearances for the Turkish side, remains central to their plans in the Süper Lig and Europe.

Amidst the transfer speculation, Osimhen has reportedly suggested that Galatasaray sign fellow Nigerian Tolu Arokodare as a backup striker. Arokodare, currently on Wolverhampton Wanderers' books after a move from Genk, is seen as a physical option for the club. The recommendation comes as Mauro Icardi’s contract expires at the end of June, leaving Galatasaray keen to retain a potent attacking duo.

The club also indicated they may offer Osimhen the captain’s armband and the iconic No. 9 jersey to strengthen his commitment, while maintaining a thin squad risk if both forwards were to depart.
