Galatasaray retains championship squad as Osimhen nears return

Galatasaray has entered the new season by maintaining the core of its championship-winning squad. Following their 26th Süper Lig title, the club has retained key players including İlkay Gündoğan, Lucas Torreira, Davinson Sanchez, and Abdülkerim Bardakcı. The attacking lineup features prominent names such as Victor Osimhen, Leroy Sane, and Barış Alper Yılmaz.

Striker Victor Osimhen is expected to return to action for Galatasaray following the international break. After suffering a muscle strain during a match against Başakşehir on September 4, the former African Footballer of the Year missed several fixtures. While he was initially named for Nigeria’s AFCON qualifiers, his recovery was slower than anticipated, leading to his withdrawal from the national squad. He is projected to be available for the Süper Lig match against Kasımpaşa on October 9.
