Galatasaray seeks new forwards as Icardi talks stall

Galatasaray’s contract negotiations with striker Mauro Icardi remain unresolved. The club offered a two‑year deal with a one‑year option and a €5 million annual salary, while Icardi is demanding at least €7 million per year, a guaranteed number of appearances and a longer contract. Portuguese side Benfica has been monitoring the situation and could act if a vacancy opens, though no formal approach has been made.

Meanwhile, Galatasaray is also targeting 21‑year‑old Nicolo Tresoldi of Club Brugge. The Belgian club reportedly asks €40 million for the forward, while the Turkish side is prepared to meet a higher price than the player’s estimated market value of €25 million. Tresoldi, who plays for Germany’s U21 team, has attracted interest from Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and other European clubs, making his potential move a focal point of the summer transfer market.
