Galatasaray Stadium Music Licensing Deal Marks First in Turkey
The Musiki Eseri Sahipleri Grubu Meslek Birliği (MSG) and MESAM signed a protocol to licence the Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex (RAMS Park), the venue for Galatasaray matches, ensuring that music played in the stadium is covered by a legal copyright licensing system and that creators receive royalties.
Galatasaray club president Dursun Özbek and MSG chairman Ferhat Göçer highlighted the step as a historic example for Turkish sport, with Göçer saying “TFF’nin de desteğini bekliyorum” and noting that the move will protect the rights of music creators in public stadium areas and could serve as a model for other clubs.
