Galatasaray prepares loan offer for Croatian striker Franjo Ivanović

Turkish champions Galatasaray have opened negotiations to acquire 22‑year‑old Croatian forward Franjo Ivanović from Portuguese club Benfica. The club is preparing a one‑year loan deal that includes an option to purchase the player permanently. Ivanović joined Benfica a year ago from Union Saint‑Gilloise for €22.8 million and is under contract until the summer of 2030. The Turkish side seeks him as an alternative to Victor Osimhen after the departure of Mauro Icardi, and to increase competition for striker positions following the arrival of Colombian forward Jhon Durán at Benfica. Contacts between the two clubs have intensified in recent days, although neither Benfica nor Galatasaray have issued official statements. The move is also influenced by the Turkish Football Federation’s decision to maintain the 10+4 foreign‑player rule, prompting clubs to adjust their recruitment strategies.
