Galatasaray to host Barcelona in Champions League clash
Barcelona and Galatasaray are set to face each other in a UEFA Champions League match at RAMS Park in Istanbul. Barcelona enters the match with a strong winning streak, having won nine consecutive matches across all competitions, including a 5-1 victory over Feyenoord in their Champions League opener. However, Hansi Flick has warned his squad to remain focused, noting that the intense atmosphere in Istanbul is one of the best in the world and that football can change rapidly if concentration is lost.
Galatasaray, led by Okan Buruk, seeks to bounce back from a 3-1 loss to Sporting CP. Buruk expressed confidence in his players, stating that while Barcelona is one of the most in-form teams, his squad is motivated by the home crowd. The match will be officiated by Italian referee Marco Guida.
Both teams face roster challenges. Barcelona will be without Raphinha, Frenkie de Jong, Andreas Christensen, and Roony Bardghji due to various injuries. Gabriel Jesus is expected to be available for selection. Galatasaray will be without Wilfried Singo, though Victor Osimhen is expected to feature. The match is scheduled to kick off at 22:00 local time.
