Galatasaray players face injury concerns ahead of Champions League

Galatasaray has issued medical updates regarding several key players following their 3-2 victory over Istanbul Basaksehir. Striker Victor Osimhen and midfielder Mario Lemina both suffered right adductor (groin) muscle strain and pain. The club is awaiting the results of MRI scans to determine the full extent of their injuries and establish recovery timelines. Osimhen’s condition is particularly critical as Galatasaray prepares for an upcoming UEFA Champions League fixture against Sporting CP.

Additionally, defender Wilfried Singo has been diagnosed with tendon and muscle damage, including bleeding, in the biceps femoris of his right thigh following a blow during training. Reports indicate Singo is expected to be sidelined for approximately three weeks, making him unavailable for the match against Sporting CP.

Osimhen’s injury also carries implications for the Nigerian national team, as he may face availability issues for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
