Galatina launches cultural tourism program as City of Art and Healing

The Pro Loco of Galatina, with support from the Regione Puglia, is running a series of events from 2 to 20 July 2026 to promote the town as a "City of Art and City of Healing." Guided tours titled “Punti di Vista” will showcase key sites such as the Basilica of Santa Caterina d’Alessandria, the Pozzo di San Paolo, the Chiesa Madre and historic city alleys.

The programme also includes a sensory exhibition “Foglie Amare nella Terra del Rimorso” linking the region’s tobacco‑growing heritage with contemporary art, a children’s ceramic‑painting workshop “Artisticamente Insieme,” and a culinary lab “A ritmo di pasta e mpasta” where participants make traditional Salento pasta by hand. Together, the activities aim to turn visits into participatory experiences that highlight Galatina’s cultural and historical identity.
