Galbot humanoid robots complete world's first autonomous tennis match

Galbot humanoid robots achieved a milestone in artificial intelligence by completing the world’s first live autonomous humanoid robot tennis match. During the event, which was broadcast during the opening ceremony of the Second World Humanoid Robot Games, the robots recorded over 100 consecutive autonomous rallies.

The demonstration showcased real-time physical intelligence as the robots tracked high-speed tennis balls, moved across the court, and executed various skills including serves, forehands, backhands, and net play. The robots also participated in doubles competition alongside human tennis champions, adapting their strategies to real-time game dynamics. The technology demonstrated the ability to recover immediately after losing balance during high-speed exchanges.
