Galbot robot demonstrates tennis skills against professionals
During the World Humanoid Robot Games, the technology company Galbot demonstrated a humanoid robot capable of playing tennis against human athletes. The demonstration included a match against former professional tennis player Zheng Jie.
To achieve high-level performance in a dynamic environment, the robot utilized advanced software architectures combining massive simulations and adaptive reinforcement learning algorithms. This allowed the machine to process visual information from integrated sensors to predict ball trajectories and execute precise movements. The robot successfully maintained a rally of more than one hundred consecutive ball exchanges.
