Galeazzo Bignami sues Alessandra Nardini over Nazi costume photo

Alessandra Nardini, a regional official in Tuscany, has announced that she is being sued by Galeazzo Bignami, the leader of the Fratelli d'Italia group in the Chamber of Deputies. The legal action stems from a 2024 social media post in which Nardini referenced a photograph of Bignami dressed in a Nazi uniform during his bachelor party.

Nardini stated that the post was an act of legitimate political criticism and noted that the photograph has been documented by international media outlets such as The Guardian, The Telegraph, and La Repubblica. She accused Bignami of using legal proceedings to attempt to silence political discourse and avoid public accountability for past actions.

The Democratic Party (PD) has expressed solidarity with Nardini. Emiliano Fossi, the secretary of the Democratic Party in Tuscany, described the use of the judiciary to suppress political criticism and the recollection of documented public events as unacceptable.
