Galeazzo Bignami sues Tuscan official Alessandra Nardini

Alessandra Nardini, a regional councilor in Tuscany, has announced that she is being sued by Galeazzo Bignami, the leader of the Fratelli d'Italia group in the Chamber of Deputies. The lawsuit stems from a 2024 social media post in which Nardini referenced a photograph of Bignami wearing a Nazi armband during his bachelor party.

Nardini stated that the post was an act of legitimate political criticism and noted that the incident has been widely documented by major Italian and international news outlets. She accused Bignami of using legal actions to silence public debate regarding past events.

Emiliano Fossi, the secretary of the Democratic Party in Tuscany, expressed solidarity with Nardini, arguing that documented public episodes should not be removed from political discourse through litigation.
