Galerie Banque Populaire hosts Moroccan art exhibition in Rabat
The Galerie Banque Populaire in Rabat is hosting an exhibition titled ‘Du Groupe de Casablanca aux nouvelles générations’ (From the Casablanca Group to New Generations). Running from October 8, 2026, to March 27, 2027, the event explores the evolution of Moroccan artistic modernity.
The exhibition centers on the work of Abderrahmane Rahoule, a painter, sculptor, and ceramicist who previously directed the Casablanca School of Fine Arts. His work continues the legacy of the Casablanca Group, a movement instrumental in renewing Moroccan plastic arts by drawing on national cultural references.
Eight contemporary artists are featured alongside Rahoule, including Yahya Al Mukhtar, Youness Amriss (Dynam), Nabil Bahya, Zineb Bennani-Smires, Mohammed El Belaoui (Rebel Spirit), Zineb El Ouardi, Oussama Mahassine, and Youness Miloudi. The collection spans various styles, including painting, abstraction, street art, and figurative representations, addressing themes of identity, memory, heritage, and the transformations within Moroccan society.
