Galicia adds 800 early‑education places with EU funds as Mos launches new preschool

The Xunta de Galicia announced that nearly 800 new public places have been authorised for infant schools across the region, funded through the European Union’s Next Generation EU recovery programme. The measures are part of a regional drive to increase enrolment in the first cycle of early childhood education.

In the municipality of Mos, the new O Rebullón preschool is set to open in September, providing 41 additional public places for children aged 0‑3. The local council approved the contract for furniture supply to the company Secretario S.L., and the tender for the school's management is underway. Funding for the Mos project exceeds €700,000 and is covered by a partnership between the Galician Services of Equality and Well‑being Consortium and the municipality.

These initiatives together aim to strengthen family‑work reconciliation and expand early‑education capacity throughout Galicia.
