Galicia allocates €3.5 million to new film, documentary and TV projects
The Galician government has approved a €3.5 million grant programme for 22 audiovisual productions in 2026. Funding covers seven feature films (fiction and animation), five documentaries, three minor‑role international co‑productions, six short films and a television series for broadcast and streaming platforms.
The resolution highlights a strong female presence, with women directing the majority of the projects – eleven directors in total – and a focus on the Galician language, as 96.7 % of the money for eligible works is tied to productions in the regional tongue. Notable titles include the debut feature "Adeus Berta" by Fernando Tato, the animated children’s comedy "Greta" by Virginia Curiá, and the documentary "Despois da eclipse" by Alba Prol, among others.
