Galicia allocates over €300,000 for port upgrades and rural business modernization

The Xunta de Galicia, through Portos de Galicia, will spend €300,000 this year on immediate port works in the Vigo area, targeting improvements in Cangas, Moaña and Baiona. A subsequent €4 million transversal contract will be tendered after the summer to renew pavements and roadways at more than thirty regional ports, while a €640,000 contract has already been signed to refurbish dock pavements at ten ports, including Baiona. Additional projects include a €1 million upgrade of the mussel dock at A Mosqueira (Moaña) scheduled for completion by year‑end.

In the rural province of Ourense, the regional government is providing more than €300,000 in aid for non‑agricultural enterprises. Around €140,000 of this funding went to Resortes Galicia S.L. for the purchase of a new multi‑former machine. The assistance scheme aims to modernise small firms and create jobs; over the past decade the Xunta has invested more than €23 million in similar projects, supporting over 550 new companies and creating more than 4,300 positions across Galicia.
