Galicia and Portugal strengthen fishing and port sector cooperation

Galicia and Portugal are strengthening cooperation within the fishing and port sectors to address shared industry challenges. During the Conxemar event, the Galician Minister of the Sea, Marta Villaverde, met with the president of Docapesca, Afonso Oliveira, to discuss management models and technological integration.

Key areas of focus include the modernization of primary sales markets, the implementation of digital tools, price transparency, and seafood traceability. The discussions also covered food safety, energy efficiency in cold storage facilities, and improved management of marine waste and fishery by-products. Both parties aim to exchange knowledge to enhance the competitiveness and efficiency of the sea-industry chain.
