Galicia blood agency calls for donations ahead of October holiday

The Axencia de Doazón de Órganos e Sangue (ADOS) is calling on citizens in Galicia to donate blood ahead of the October 12 holiday weekend. The agency noted that public holidays typically lead to a decrease in participation, which impacts blood reserves.

While donations of all blood types are needed, there is a specific urgent need for A Positive, O Positive, and O Negative groups. The agency estimates that approximately 400 donations are required to maintain necessary assistance levels. Donors can visit centers in seven major Galician cities or utilize mobile units scheduled to visit approximately 40 different municipalities throughout the week.
