Galicia completes coastal bike trail and bridge repairs funded by EU recovery funds

The Deputación de A Coruña finished a 1.7‑kilometre shared pedestrian and cycling path in Valdoviño, linking the historic Campelo Baixo and Campelo Alto batteries. The project, part of the Sustainable Tourism Plan for the Ferrol historic centre, cost €78,394 and was financed with Next Generation EU recovery funds.

Portos de Galicia also completed a €400,000 refurbishment of the As Goritas bridge in Cambados. The overhaul replaced a main beam, applied corrosion‑inhibiting treatments, and upgraded the deck, pavement, railings and lighting to restore safety for vehicles and pedestrians.

Both works aim to improve access to coastal heritage sites and enhance transport links for locals and tourists, strengthening the region’s tourism and maritime logistics infrastructure.
