Galicia faces heat wave and sunny beaches under high‑pressure anticylone

The Xunta de Galicia announced that an incoming anticiclón together with strong north‑westerly winds will bring clear skies and favourable conditions for outdoor activities along the Atlantic coastline, including beach outings and water sports that do not require prolonged immersion.

At the same time, a heat dome is projected to raise daytime temperatures above 30 °C in early July in towns such as Ourense, Vigo and Pontevedra, while the north wind will trigger coastal upwelling that cools sea water. The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) expects the week to be warmer than normal and drier across most of Galicia, with the exception of the Mariña area where precipitation will remain near average.
