Galicia hosts international poetic translation and language festivals

Galicia is hosting several cultural events focused on linguistics and translation. The 15th edition of the international poetic translation workshop, “Con Barqueira e Remador,” will take place on San Simón Island from September 28 to October 3. Coordinated by poet Yolanda Castaño, the workshop will feature six poets and translators from Spain, the Netherlands, Poland, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and India.

Additionally, the University of Vigo, in collaboration with the Vigo City Council, will host the third edition of the Festival das Linguas e as Culturas at Praza do Berbés on September 26. Part of the International Week of Languages, Literatures, and Translation, the festival aims to promote linguistic diversity and the importance of the humanities as a space for dialogue and plurality.
