Galicia launches €45 million automotive aid programme
The Galician regional government (Xunta) announced a new €45 million package of extraordinary aid for the automotive sector. The call, published in the Official Gazette of Galicia, opens on 29 July for applications. It was presented by the Councilor for Economy and Industry, María Jesús Lorenzana, during a visit to the Valver facility in Tui.
The programme is divided into three €15 million lines: experimental development and innovation, environmental protection and decarbonisation, and support for small‑ and medium‑sized companies to adapt to green, connected mobility. Grants can reach up to €10 million per beneficiary, with a minimum eligible investment of €100 000. Funding intensity varies up to 50 % for innovation projects, up to 32.5 % for decarbonisation measures, and up to 50 % of consultancy costs for SMEs. An advance payment of 80 % of the awarded amount will be made without requiring guarantees. The scheme is administered by the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion (IGAPE) and co‑financed 60 % by the European Union under the Galicia FER 2021‑2027 programme.
