Galicia municipalities push for extra ambulance and pulmonology services
The council of Vilagarcía in Galicia is drafting a joint political statement to demand the return of a medicalised ambulance for Hospital do Salnés during the summer months. Local parties (PP, BNG, EU) and the mayor’s office plan a spokesperson meeting, while a public protest is scheduled for 16 July.
In O Barco de Valdeorras, merchants and the regional Silicosis Association have placed stickers in shop windows and organized a rally outside the public hospital, calling for a dedicated pulmonology department. They have submitted letters to the regional health ministry and the People's Ombudsman and intend another demonstration on 16 July, with further actions paused for August.
