Galicia promotes youth choirs with Cantamos! project and Paris performances

The Real Filharmonía de Galicia has opened registrations for the Cantamos! project, inviting youth choirs across the region to prepare a program of film‑score and traditional pieces. Selected ensembles will rehearse for two concerts scheduled for 17‑18 December at the Auditorio de Galicia in Santiago.

Meanwhile, choral groups from Vigo, including the Atlántida and AVCR San Mamede de Zamáns, performed in Paris at the Madeleine, Luxembourg Gardens and the Champs‑Élysées on 29‑30 July. The tour, organized with the Spanish Embassy in France, showcased Galician repertoire such as “Negra Sombra” and works by Gustavo Freire, alongside adaptations of ABBA and Coldplay songs.

Both initiatives aim to broaden the audience for Galician choral music, offering young singers performance experience at home and abroad.
