Galicia road improvement projects launch, covering Baredo‑Baiona stretch and La Coruña port

The municipal council of Baiona and the Pontevedra provincial authority will begin work in the third week of August to widen and upgrade the provincial road EP‑2203 between Baredo and Baiona. The one‑kilometre project includes expanding traffic lanes, adding a 2.5‑metre pedestrian walkway, new lighting, vertical and horizontal signage, drainage improvements and raised pedestrian crossings to enhance safety for nearby neighbourhoods.

Meanwhile, the Port Authority of La Coruña has started resurfacing a one‑kilometre external road that links the San Diego and Oza dock roundabouts. The work involves milling and repaving the carriageway while keeping traffic flowing on alternate lanes, with no full closures or impact on rail services. The two‑week operation, part of a broader maintenance programme, is funded with a budget exceeding one million euros and will be followed by additional upgrades elsewhere in the port network.
