Galicia Tapas and Pintxo Championship to be held in San Pedro de Rocas

The fifth edition of the Galicia Tapas and Pintxo Championship is scheduled to take place on October 19 and 20 at the San Pedro de Rocas Monastery in Esgos. Organized by the Diputación de Ourense through Inorde, the event is held in collaboration with the Galicia Tourism Agency and the Spanish Tapas and Pintxo Academy.

Fifty hospitality professionals from across the four Galician provinces will compete, with each participant allowed a maximum of 15 minutes to prepare, plate, and present their creations live. A panel of external gastronomic experts will judge the entries based on flavor, technique, originality, and the use of local ingredients.

This year's competition introduces two new awards: the prize for the best story behind the dish and a category specifically for the flavors of the Ourense province. Among the confirmed contestants is chef Samuel Moreno, the winner of the previous edition.
