Galicia to offer 28 winter flight destinations amid airline shifts
Galicia is set to offer flights to 28 destinations this winter season, marking a recovery in air connectivity after several years of declining trends. While this figure is slightly below the record of 30 destinations reached in the 2022-2023 period, it matches the connectivity levels seen in 2019.
The regional aviation landscape is undergoing a restructuring following a significant retreat by Ryanair, which has reduced its presence to only three routes. To compensate, new commercial agreements and the emergence of Fly2Galicia, alongside support for Wizz Air, are helping to reshape the low-cost sector. Santiago-Rosalía de Castro Airport and Alvedro will collectively provide 15 international routes, though Vigo currently offers none.
In conjunction with these structural changes, Vueling has launched a promotional campaign offering reduced fares for travel between November 1 and February 28. These deals, available from airports in Vigo, Santiago, A Coruña, and Porto, include destinations such as Barcelona, Málaga, Palma de Mallorca, and London.
