Galicia to receive new administrative powers from Spanish government
The regional government of Galicia is set to expand its self-governance through a transfer of competencies from the Spanish central government. On November 5, a bilateral commission is expected to formalize the transfer of authority regarding initial work authorizations for foreign nationals and the management of non-commercial aerodromes.
Galician President Alfonso Rueda stated that the move aims to reduce bureaucratic delays and help fill job vacancies more efficiently. This marks the second significant expansion of regional autonomy since 2008, following a previous agreement regarding coastal management. The process will be overseen by the Minister of Territorial Policy, Ángel Víctor Torres.
