Galician architectural projects advance urban and heritage recovery

Urban and heritage rehabilitation projects are progressing in Galicia, Spain. In the center of Vigo, the iconic Colón street is moving toward full recovery. A license has been granted for the comprehensive rehabilitation of the building at number 31, a project that had been delayed for over eight years due to administrative and legal issues.

Additionally, the building at number 30 is set for renovation by Sareb through its promoter Arqura Homes. This project aims to transform the Jenaro de la Fuente-designed building into 14 high-end residences.

In other regions, Grupo Souto is focusing on heritage recovery through two distinct projects. In the historic center, the company has rehabilitated apartments on Alejandro Outeiriño street, blending recovered architectural elements with contemporary design. The group is also restoring the 19th-century Pazo de Castadón in Pereiro de Aguiar, preserving its original stone, balconies, and shields to create lodging and event spaces.
