Galician High Court overturns Vigo license annulment

The High Court of Justice of Galicia (TSXG) has overturned a previous ruling regarding the construction of an association center in Vigo. The court ruled that the Vigo City Council incorrectly annulled the license previously granted by the Xunta de Galicia for the project located in the former Lalín Street courthouse.

The court stated that the suspension of the license was not justified by the need to protect public domain, but rather stemmed from a reasonable doubt regarding ownership that did not warrant halting the works. Following the ruling, Diego Calvo, the counselor for Presidency, Justice, and Sports, announced that the Xunta is considering seeking compensation from the City Council to cover costs incurred, including approximately 600,000 euros paid to companies due to the project's interruption.
