Galician opposition criticizes Alfonso Rueda over absences and housing funds

The Galician Parliament has opened its new legislative session amid sharp criticism from opposition parties BNG and PSdeG directed at President Alfonso Rueda. Opposition leaders Ana Pontón (BNG) and José Ramón Gómez Besteiro (PSdeG) criticized Rueda for missing a regional government meeting to attend a People's Party (PP) event in Madrid alongside the president of Ceuta. The absence has sparked a debate regarding political priorities and the use of the Ceuta migration crisis for partisan purposes.

Additionally, the PSdeG has launched initiatives demanding that the Xunta de Galicia transfer state funds intended for housing support in tensioned zones directly to the city councils of A Coruña and Santiago de Compostela. PSdeG deputy Aitor Bouza accused the regional government of attempting to withhold 5 million euros in state funds and obstructing the implementation of housing policies in these urban areas.
