Galician political groups address budgets and election readiness

The nationalist union CIG has announced it will not attend a meeting convened by the Galician Finance Counselor, Miguel Corgos, to discuss the 2027 budget project. The union described such meetings as mere formalities that lack utility for evaluating project content or addressing specific proposals. CIG Secretary General Paulo Carril criticized the regional government's policies, alleging an intensification of labor and social right cuts and a failure to maintain social dialogue.

Separately, the Bloque Nacionalista Galego (BNG) expressed readiness for upcoming general elections. BNG spokesperson Néstor Rego stated the party expects to increase its representation, citing their recent work defending Galician interests and social policies. Rego also addressed the housing crisis, advocating for measures such as rent and mortgage price controls, increased public housing construction, and the utilization of vacant properties, specifically noting unused housing held by Sareb in the region.
