Galician PP councils blame local officials for traffic plan delay and missed home‑care funding

Municipal groups of Spain’s People’s Party in Galicia have launched criticism of local authorities over two separate failures. In Vilagarcía, PP councillors say mayor Alberto Varela pledged in 2021 to produce a traffic‑management plan for a new health centre, yet the plan has not been presented to the regional government, causing delays and public frustration. The party calls the mayor’s inaction a political attack and demands an urgent, comprehensive traffic study.

In the neighbouring municipality of Gondomar, PP representatives accuse the administration of Regional President Paco Ferreira and the town’s mayor of neglecting to submit a required request for increased funding to the regional home‑care assistance programme. The oversight allegedly forfeited about €510,000 in additional resources for the next three years, impacting municipal finances and the provision of services to vulnerable residents.

Both PP groups argue the failures reflect a broader pattern of neglect and call for accountability and corrective action.
