Galician tech firm deploys GPS collars to 30,000 cattle

A technology company based in Abadín, Lugo, has emerged as a European leader in livestock innovation by deploying smart GPS collars to approximately 30,000 cattle. The system allows farmers to monitor animal location and behavior remotely, which is particularly beneficial for extensive farming operations where livestock move across large areas.

Since 2021, the company has received over 1.54 million euros in public funding through European programs to support the development and expansion of this technology. The goal of the digital tool is to improve efficiency, traceability, and animal welfare by providing real-time data to help farmers make faster decisions and detect anomalous movements.
