Galician theater groups promote regional heritage through performance

The theater group Teatro da Troula, based in Mazaricos, continues its cultural work through projects supported by European funds. The group, which includes 16 members ranging in age from 24 to 87, recently performed ‘Grazas, aquí estou ben’, a tribute to long-time member José Cambeiro.

Separately, the theater company Galeatro is launching ‘Os Muíños no Camiño’ on August 21 in Muxía. Supported by the Xunta de Galicia through the ‘O teu Xacobeo’ program, the initiative combines performing arts with heritage preservation. The project uses audiovisual content to highlight the historical value of traditional mills along the Camino de Santiago routes, specifically focusing on locations in Vilasantar, Miño, and Muxía. The project includes live performances of the play ‘Muiñada’ at these historic sites.
