Galicia's Sergas enables family doctors to offer voluntary chat consultations
The Galician health service (Sergas) announced that family doctors will be able to chat with any of their patients on a voluntary basis through the updated IANUS platform. The feature, previously limited to monitored or home‑care patients, becomes available once a doctor activates it.
The Xunta de Galicia, led by President Alfonso Rueda, is allocating €8.5 million for the upgrade, which will also introduce artificial‑intelligence decision‑support tools, simplified specialist‑referral requests, and integration of patients’ genomic information as part of a regional genomic map project headed by Ángel Carracedo. Additional telemetric devices will be deployed to collect continuous patient data.
