Galicia's Xunta launches €5.3 million tender for Vigo‑Nigrán bike‑pedestrian route

The Xunta de Galicia announced a €5.3 million tender to build a 14.14‑kilometre pedestrian and cyclist path along the PO‑325 road between Vigo and Nigrán. The project, funded jointly with EU FEDER resources, will create a continuous 3‑metre‑wide shared lane, improve crossings, add new signage and lighting, reorganise spaces, renew pavements and install rest areas with urban furniture and bike‑parking. Two new roundabouts will be built to enhance road safety.

Infrastructure minister María M. Allegue and regional delegate Ana Ortiz said the route will serve over 300,000 residents and the many visitors and pilgrims travelling the Portuguese Way along the coast. Companies may submit bids until 1 July, with construction expected to last about 18 months once awarded.
