Galicia's Xunta receives bids for new pedestrian and cycling routes in Vigo‑Nigrán and A Estrada

The Xunta de Galicia announced it has received 14 offers for the construction of a 14.14‑km pedestrian and cycling path along the PO‑325 between Vigo and Nigrán. The project, valued at €5.3 million and co‑financed with EU FEDER funds, will be built over 18 months and will create a continuous 3‑metre‑wide shared lane, improving safety and connectivity for more than 300,000 residents and pilgrims on the Camino Portugués.

In A Estrada, the regional government received six offers to build a pedestrian and cycling route linking the town centre with the Toedo industrial estate. The €1.1 million scheme includes prefabricated concrete structures, drainage upgrades, utility channels and enhanced signage, aiming to boost road safety and sustainable mobility in the area.
