Galileo Galilei Airport inaugurates new arrivals terminal

Toscana Aeroporti has inaugurated a new 7,100-square-meter arrivals terminal at Pisa's Galileo Galilei Airport. The facility is energy self-sufficient, featuring a 300 kW photovoltaic system on its roof.

This inauguration marks the first of three phases in a broader €80 million expansion and restructuring project. Once technical testing is complete, all arriving passenger flows will be transferred to the new building. This will allow the existing terminal to be repurposed and reconfigured to separate arrival and departure flows.

The project aims to increase the airport's total surface area by 28%, reaching 50,600 square meters and boosting operational capacity to between 6 and 7 million passengers annually. The expansion follows a period of significant growth for the airport, which recorded its best September ever with 664,000 passengers.
