Gallagher Re launches Digital Risk Practice for AI and tech exposures

Gallagher Re has launched a new Digital Risk Practice to address increasing exposures related to artificial intelligence, data centres, and cyber threats. The initiative aims to help insurers and reinsurers quantify and manage technology-related risks that are increasingly impacting property, casualty, and specialty business lines.

Ian Newman will lead the practice as Global Head of Digital Risk while maintaining his role as Global Head of Cyber. The leadership team includes Freddie Scarratt as AI Liability Lead and Luca Drane as Data Centers Lead. The practice focuses on understanding how digital dependencies and AI can create correlated losses and accumulation risks across insurance portfolios.
