Gallarate healthcare debate focuses on hospital reorganization

The Movimento 5 Stelle in the province of Varese has concluded two local initiatives in Gallarate focused on healthcare and citizen engagement.

A public debate held at the Cuac headquarters addressed the future of the local hospital network and the potential reorganization of healthcare assistance. Key topics included the proposal for a single new hospital versus the enhancement of existing facilities in Gallarate and Busto Arsizio. Participants raised concerns regarding reduced bed capacity, staffing shortages, and increased travel times to emergency rooms, particularly in light of a planned investment of approximately 500 million euros. There was also emphasis on maintaining essential services within current facilities to prevent a shift toward private management.

Additionally, the group held an information session in the via Torino market area, using a questionnaire to collect direct feedback and priorities from local residents.
