Italy community and humanitarian initiatives support children and families

Various community and humanitarian initiatives are being launched across Italy to support children, families, and social cohesion.

Major humanitarian organizations are conducting fundraising and awareness campaigns. Save the Children is launching its second “BisBuoni” edition in nearly 100 Italian squares to support children in global crisis zones. Unicef is running its “Ulivo” campaign, offering olive saplings as symbols of peace to fund aid for vulnerable children. Additionally, Emergency is organizing a “Day of Giving” across 500 squares to support maternal and child health in conflict areas like Gaza, Afghanistan, and Sudan.

On a local level, several social and educational programs are underway. The “Diamoci la mano” network, coordinated by ABC Bambini Chirurgici and including Moige, aims to provide psychological and social support to children with complex pathologies. In Brindisi, the Bozzano-Centro Institute has established a Legality and Active Citizenship Observatory to prevent youth distress and bullying. Other local efforts include the Pedibus project in Sansepolcro to promote sustainable mobility and safety, and road safety campaigns in Fossacesia targeting students.

Community support also extends to family services, including training for foster parents in Corato, new family center openings in Chiavari, and discussions regarding reproductive technologies and family dynamics.
