Gallarate Local Police to assist with vehicle scrapping services

The Gallarate municipal government has approved a new service provided by the Local Police to facilitate the scrapping of end-of-life vehicles. This service is specifically designed to assist citizens who need to scrap unusable vehicles that are currently subject to administrative seizure.

Under new national regulations, the Local Police will be responsible for managing individual requests, conducting investigations, verifying documentation, and, if necessary, performing on-site inspections to confirm the vehicle's condition. This process allows for the cancellation of such vehicles from public registries if legal requirements are met. The service will carry a cost of 70 euros per vehicle.

Local Councilor for Security and Local Police, Germano Dall’Igna, stated that this expansion of duties reflects the increasingly complex and administrative roles of local police forces beyond traditional road safety and territorial presence.
