Gallipoli House closure leaves Newcastle event organisers stranded

The sudden permanent closure of Gallipoli House in Newcastle has left event organisers scrambling to find a new venue just days before a major Halloween event.

Powder Your Nose, an all-female DJ collective, had scheduled its fifth annual HallowQueen event at the venue for Saturday night. Co-founder Ella Griffiths reported that the closure was communicated with very little notice, following a brief message from Gallipoli House CEO Jared Ford regarding an upcoming announcement.

The cancellation has caused significant logistical challenges, including the loss of production investments and travel arrangements for performers, including one DJ traveling from Queensland. While ticket sales had been performing well, the collective is now urgently seeking an alternative location following an influx of support and venue offers on social media.
