Gallipoli: Man arrested after attacking police officers

A 27-year-old man was arrested in Gallipoli after attacking police officers on the Galileo Galilei seafront. The individual, who was already known to police, was reportedly in a state of agitation and was throwing stones and using a wooden chair leg as a weapon.

During the confrontation, the man struck one officer in the head and injured another's hand. Despite attempts to use a taser, the suspect continued to resist until he was eventually subdued with the assistance of an off-duty member of the Guardia di Finanza. The man faces charges of resistance and injury and has been taken into custody following consultation with the public prosecutor at the Lecce Tribunal.
