Gallura superyacht numbers rise to 3,176 vessels

The Gallura region in Sardinia has seen a significant surge in luxury maritime tourism, with 3,176 superyachts over 24 meters navigating its waters between June and August. According to data from the Cipnes Study Center, this represents a 9.97% increase compared to 2025 and a 27.29% increase over 2024.

The growth is no longer confined to the traditional Costa Smeralda hub. The presence of large vessels is expanding across the maritime Gallura area, including Olbia, Cannigione, and Tavolara. Specifically, the Gulf of Olbia recorded 1,305 unique vessels, a 16.1% increase from the previous year. La Maddalena saw 2,866 vessels, largely driven by transit routes.

The economic scale of this fleet is immense, with the total value of the yachts estimated at over $19 billion. The fleet included 291 maxi-yachts with an average length exceeding 60 meters, including several vessels over 120 meters. While the United States holds the largest share of owner wealth, Italy ranks second in the number of vessels spotted in the region.
