Galux, a South Korean AI-driven drug discovery company, has been named to the ‘Forbes Asia 100 to Watch 2026’ list. It is the only South Korean company recognized in the biotechnology and healthcare category this year.
The company utilizes its proprietary AI platform, ‘GaluxDesign,’ to perform ‘de novo’ protein design. This technology combines physicochemical principles with artificial intelligence to design entirely new protein structures and sequences with specific desired functions, rather than simply searching through existing candidates.
Galux has secured approximately 70 billion KRW in cumulative investment, including a Series B round earlier this year. The company is currently collaborating with global pharmaceutical firms such as AstraZeneca and Boehringer Ingelheim. Additionally, its AI-designed PD-1/IL-18v bispecific antibody cancer immunotherapy candidate was recently selected as a new support project for the National New Drug Development Project.
